American Express Opens Renovated Lounge at Stockholm Arlanda Airport
American Express has opened its newly renovated lounge at the Stockholm (Sweden) Arlanda (ARN) airport. The American Express Lounge by Pontus Frithiof re-opened on April 4th and is located in the Marketplace area of Terminal 5. The new renovation doubles the size of the existing lounge and now spans 7,535 square feet (700 sqm).
The lounge is open Monday through Friday from 05:00 to 18:00, Saturday from 05:00 to 15:00 and Sunday from 05:00 to 18:00. It warmly welcomes all American Express Centurion card, American Express Platinum card members, and those who have paid for entry into the lounge. Centurion members are welcome to bring two guests and Platinum members may bring one guest free of charge with them.
This expanded lounge is the largest American Express lounge in the Nordic region (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden) of Europe. The lounge's design features Nordic-inspired designs inspired by nature, including furniture and materials used throughout the location.
The previous American Express lounge was closed in March 2023 in order to allow the renovation. During the construction, a temporary pop-up lounge was opened in Terminal 5.

The lounge is under the direction of star restaurateur and chef Pontus Frithiof. Pontus Frithiof has composed the lounge’s menu with dishes such as traditional shrimp sandwiches, classic salmon salad, and various hot and vegetarian options. Dining will be at a beautifully set table; American Express members will also be offered a wide range of drinks that have been carefully selected to complement the menu – everything from locally brewed beer, carefully selected wines, and champagne to several tasty non-alcoholic options.
Closing Thoughts
Stockholm Arlanda Airport (ARN) has six lounges, including two SAS lounges and three Pearl lounges. This American Express lounge is the newest lounge at the airport, and if you have access to it, it is likely one of the nicest lounges.
