Capital One Launches a Mobile Waitlist Feature for Capital One Lounges

Waiting to enter a lounge is becoming more common as lounge popularity increases. Fortunately, a new mobile waitlist feature has been released for those visiting Capital One Lounges. This feature can be found in the Capital One app, which is available for both Android and iOS devices.

This feature is for travelers who hold an eligible Capital One card (such as the Capital One Venture X card). The waitlist option is only active when capacity needs to be queued. You can reserve a spot on the waitlist before you arrive at the lounge or even before you arrive at the airport.

How to Use

  1. Install the Capital One Mobile app for your device either Android or iOS. Once installed login to the app using your credentials.
  2. Find the Capital One lounge you are on your way to (DEN, DFW, or IAD).
  3. When the selected Capital One Lounge is on a wait, you will see an option to "Join waitlist" on the lounge location page, along with the current wait time.
  4. After clicking on the button, enter your name, phone number, and party size, and then slide the button to join the waitlist.
  5. Once submitted, you will see a confirmation page and anticipated wait time. You will also receive a text message with confirmation.
  6. When it's your turn to enter the Capital One Lounge, you will be notified via text and within the Capital One mobile app. You will have 15 minutes to arrive; you can let the lounge know via the Capital One mobile app if you're on your way, running late, have arrived, or are no longer coming.

Lounge Locations

  1. Dallas/Fort Worth International (DFW) in Terminal D near Gate D22
  2. Denver (DEN) in Concourse A near Gate 34 on the Mezzanine Level
  3. Washington Dulles (IAD) in the Main Terminal (near TSA PreCheck)

In addition to its existing lounges, Capital One is developing Capital One Landings. This new culinary-focused concept space will open at Reagan National Airport (DCA) and New York's LaGuardia Airport (LGA) in the near future.

Closing Thoughts

I recommend you check the app while in security or upon landing for a connecting flight; if the lounge is on a wait, then you can add your name to the queue. If you don't use the Capital One app or prefer to join the waitlist in person, you can still visit the Capital One Lounge reception desk. Last month I was in Atlanta (ATL) and both times I visited the Delta Sky Club (Terminal B) there was a line waiting for lounge entrance, I would love it if Delta would do the same thing.
