American Express to Open a Centurion Lounge at Newark (EWR) in 2026
American Express and the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey are partnering to open a Centurion Lounge at Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) in 2026. This lounge will be located in Terminal A and span 17,000 square-feet with views of the Manhattan skyline.
This lounge is reported to include many local touches as well as the common amenities found in other Centurion Lounges. In a new touch, there will be a 1,400-square-foot indoor terrace with a cocktail bar and piano room. There will also be a space designed specially for families. Throughout the lounge, there will be artifacts that celebrate New Jersey’s culture. There will also be room for working, including tables, seating, and high-speed Wi-Fi. The lounge will also feature bathe suites for visitors to rejuvenate before or after their flights.
This new lounge at Newark (EWR) will be a great addition to other New York area Centurion lounges found at LaGuardia (LGA) and Kennedy International (JFK) airports. Newark has many other lounges and is home to ten other lounges, including a USO Lounge.
The Centurion® Lounge Network is expanding with recently announced lounges scheduled to open at Ronald Reagan Washington International Airport (DCA), Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL), and Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR).
Closing Thoughts
This is exciting news to see the Centurion Lounge network grow. I have been fond of Centurion lounges over the years and expect this location will not disappoint. I am also glad to see the size of 17,000 square-feet; hopefully, this will help with overcrowding.
