Chicago Midway Airport (MDW) Getting Their First Lounge in 2024

News recently broke that Chicago Midway Airport (MDW) will be getting a lounge in the fall of 2024. This new lounge will be called The Club MDW and will be operated by The Club Airport Lounges. The Club will be located between concourses A and B (center market area). This is exciting news for those who travel to or from Midway since it is the first public lounge at MDW, not including the USO lounge in Concourse C.

Access

Club MDW will be able to be accessed by either purchasing a day pass for $50 per person or by using a Priority Pass membership. The Club MDW will be available for all travelers regardless of airline and class of service. The lounge will offer all its patrons complimentary food and beverage service in an inviting, relaxing environment. Throughout the lounge there is seating, tables, and full service bar.

Airlines and Information

Chicago Midway Airport (MDW) is currently ranked as the 30th busiest airport in the United States, with over 22.7 million people traveling through its terminals. Construction on the 3,300-square-foot lounge will begin early in 2024, with a targeted fall 2024 opening date.

Midway currently operates flights by seven airlines, with Southwest Airlines operating the most flights. Six other airlines offer domestic and international service, these airlines include Allegiant, Avelo, Delta, Frontier, Porter (Canada), and Volaris (Mexico).

Closing Thoughts

This is exciting news for those who travel to or from Chicago Midway. I usually go into O'Hare, but the times I have flown to MDW have shown to be much less stressful and easy to get around. This lounge will be relatively small, so I am curious how crowds will be and if they have to implement wait-listing.
