Colorado Springs Airport (COS) has announced it will transition from the current Premier Lounge to a lounge operated by the Global Lounge Network (GLN). The current Premier Lounge is scheduled to close on February 29, 2024. This new GLN lounge is scheduled to open in Q3 of 2024.

The new lounge will be called "The Lounge" and will offer some enhanced amenities over the current Premier lounge. Some features will include personalized concierge services, a diverse menu of food and beverage options (including alcoholic beverages), dedicated workstations, and a self-serve coffee bar.

This partnership between COS and GLN, aimed at enhancing our airport lounge, exemplifies our unwavering commitment to elevating the traveler experience through our ambitious ElevateCOS initiative, accompanied by complementary projects that include enhancements to our food and beverage offerings and retail amenities.

The Global Lounge Network in a Miami-based company that currently operates 42 lounges across 11 countries. This Colorado location will be its third location in the United States (following two Turkish Airlines lounges in Miami).

Changes

Current members of the Premier Club were entitled to special parking privileges. The new GLN lounge will not include the existing parking benefit, but there will be an accountment on a new parking option coming soon. Access to the lounge will also be changing. The Premier Lounge offered a dedicated membership, Priority Pass, LoungeKey, as well as access for those with mid-to-upper airline status entrance into the lounge. Now that the lounge is moving to the GLN, both Priority Pass and Global Lounge Network memberships will allow entrance into the lounge. Existing Premier Lounge members will receive a prorated refund of their membership and will be offered a special COS Membership for "The Lounge", ensuring a seamless transition. The Lounge will also offer a day pass option for those wanting to visit the lounge without a membership.

Closing Thoughts

I know those who travel through COS might be affected by this news. The previous lounge offered many options for entrance. I am glad the new lounge will be partnered with Priority Pass to expand access options. I have never been to Premier Lounge, but I am also going to guess that this new partnership will improve the offerings. A dedicated website has been launched so you can learn more about this new opening.
