Corpus Christi International Airport (CRP) located in south Texas, is getting a new outdoor observation deck. This new "VIP lounge experience" will be located post-security on the second floor near Gate 1. This lounge will open to the public and free of charge. Construction has already started, and the new patio is expected to open in April 2024.

Based on renderings, the outdoor patio will have chairs, tables, and clear glass to allow passengers views of the airport area. There will also be a service animal relief area for your pet when traveling.

Corpus Christi International Airport (CCIA) currently offers air service on United, Southwest, and American Airlines. These airlines provide regular service to/from Dallas (DFW), Houston (IAH) and Houston-Hobby (HOU).

About Corpus Christi

Corpus Christi is a Texas coastal city located on the Gulf of Mexico and is home to the Naval Air Station (NAS), which has been home to Naval pilot training since 1941. Corpus Christi is the eighth most populated city in Texas. Today, the base serves as a training base for student pilots and advanced multiengine pilots of the US Navy, US Marine Corps, and US Coast Guard.

Closing Thoughts

I am always excited to see airports adding services for travelers, especially when they are free. This patio looks very nice and will be a great place to relax before a flight. I expect you will be able to bring beverages and food from the terminal area.
