Delta Announces New Sky Club (Sky Deck) Minneapolis Opening in 2023
Delta has shared some exciting news about an upcoming Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport (MSP) Sky Club lounge that is scheduled to open in April 2023. This new lounge will be located in the recently expanded G concourse and will total about 19,000 square feet including a 3,000 square-foot year-round outdoor Sky Deck. This massive Sky Club (Sky Deck) will have lots of seating with capacity for 450 guests.
This new lounge will likely take design elements from the modern Sky Club lounges found in Los Angeles (LAX) and New York City-LaGuardia (LGA). Delta also shared that guests will have outstanding views of the runway (#planespotting) from the main lounge area. I expect the Sky Deck to be the main attraction of this lounge. The Sky Deck will include seating for 110 guests a feature an indoor/outdoor bar.
Minneapolis (MSP) currently has 5 lounges in operation, including two Delta Sky Clubs, a United Club, an Escape Lounge, and an Armed Forces Service Center (AFSC). This new Sky Club will not only be larger than other Sky Clubs at MSP but will also expand the overall Delta lounge capacity and help with crowding at such a busy Delta Airlines hotspot.
Closing Thoughts
The exact amenities of this lounge are still unannounced but I hope and expect to see some of the great features seen at the LAX Terminal 3 Sky Club such as private phone booths, floor-to-ceiling windows, mobile dining carts, showers, and multiple buffet stations.
