Delta Launches Sky Club Priority Lines at Select Airports
You have likely seen the photos of people waiting in crazy long lines to get into a Delta Sky Club Lounge. Well, Delta is launching a new concept to help with these line delays. The idea is simple, have a priority line for elite (priority) passengers and a second line for all others getting into the lounge. Priority members will include Delta One, Delta 360, Diamond Medallion, and First Class passengers.
There has not been an official announcement from Delta yet, but news of the Sky Club Priority Lanes was reported by The Points Guy.
Also, to help with crowding, it has been reported that Delta is asking all employees to refrain from using the Clubs during the holiday season.
Closing Thoughts
I have not experienced lines at Sky Club lounges, but I know it is a problem. As a non-priority Delta traveler, I am not upset at all by this announcement and it seems fair and smart. If this helps reduce the line wait overall, then it is a win-win. I don't expect to see this at my home airport in Austin (AUS), but I do expect to see this new queue system at hub locations like Atlanta (ATL), New York Kennedy (JFK), and Minneapolis-St. Paul (MSP). I think this will improve the overall Sky Club experience.
