Delta airlines has opened a brand new Sky Club Lounge at the Kansas City International Airport (MCI). Also noteworthy is that this is also the only lounge at the Kansas City airport. This new lounge brings modern Sky Club amenities to the new $1.5 billion state-of-the-art terminal that opened on Feb 28th, 2023.

This lounge spans 11,200 square feet and can accommodate up to 200 passengers. This lounge features two all-weather Sky Decks (outdoor patios) with views of the airport area. The lounge also features floor-to-ceiling windows, a premium full-length bar, couches, tables, outdoor seating, a full buffet, and art from regional artists.

Delta is expanding and opening many lounges in 2023. This Sky Club lounge is the first to open this year, but there will be many more announcements the coming months.

Delta operates service from MCI to all nine of the (United States) airline hubs (Boston, Detroit, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, New York-JFK, New York-LaGuardia, Salt Lake City, and Seattle) and will be adding additional daily service to Atlanta (ATL), Boston (BOS) and Minneapolis (MSP) later this spring and summer.

Closing Thoughts

This is super exciting if you travel on Delta through Kanas City International. I look forward to visiting this lounge even though they don't offer non-stop service from Austin. Having seen a Sky Deck, I am happy they added that amenity to this location. As mentioned earlier, this is the only lounge in the MCI airport, so I can see this driving business for passengers to want to fly Delta over other airlines when able.
