Plaza Premium Opens Orlando (MCO) - Terminal C Lounge
Plaza Premium Group has opened a new lounge at Orlando International Airport (MCO) in Florida. This full-service lounge located in the new Terminal C - Palm Court, near Gate 240 and has a capacity for 238 customers. The lounge was supposed to open in October 2022 but was delayed due to Hurricane Ian. Currently this is the only lounge located in Terminal C which serves many international operators such as Aer Lingus, Azul, British Airways, Emirates, Eurowings Discover, GOL, Icelandair, Norse, and Sunwing. Also as of October 25, 2022 jetBlue is operating from this terminal as well.
The lounge is currently open from 14:00 to 21:00 and features a full bar, upscale food options as well as four shower suites. The lounge is decorated with modern seating, art and has large windows that look out over the terminal area. One of the great things about Plaza Premium is you can purchase a day pass for entrance into the lounge, although at the time of writing the website still does not support pre-purchase for this location.
Plaza Premium recently won for the 6th year in a row the Best Independent Airport Lounge award and hopefully, this new location will feature some of the magic that put their London Heathrow (LHR) location into the winning category.
Plaza Premium Group (PPG) has been expanding in the United States with its first U.S. lounge at the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) - Terminal E opened in September 2020. Also at DFW, they opened a co-branded lounge with Capital One - Terminal D which opened in November 2021. PPG also runs Virgin Atlantic Clubhouses in New York (JFK), Boston (BOS), San Francisco (SFO), and Dulles (IAD). As well as the Virgin Atlantic Lounge at Newark (EWR). In 2023 Plaza Premium Group is planning to open another co-branded Capital One Lounge in Denver (DEN).
Closing Thoughts
For those arriving on international flights or those flying through Orlando (MCO) there is now a brand new lounge to visit. The shower suites are great to freshen up as well as grab some food before hitting the city. Currently, I am unaware of any other lounges that will be opening in Terminal C so I expect this location to be very popular.
