Portland International Airport (PDX) is getting its first Escape Lounge. The new escape lounge will be located in Concourse D, near Gate D6. This lounge is scheduled to open in Q4 of 2024.

The new Escape Lounge will span 10,700 square feet. The lounge will feature “the weird and the wonderful, local art and the carpet with its own cult following.” The lounge will feature a dedicated space for kids, Wi-Fi, a digital library (from PressReader), two shower rooms (a first for Escape lounges), and two rooms that can be used as a workspace or a space for new mothers.

The lounge will have seasonally curated prepared hot and cold food and specially selected beverages in a lounge built to meet their every need. There will also be a bar that will serve local craft beer (from the Hoptimists bar) and specialty cocktails.

The Escape lounge will be open to the public (no membership required). You can purchase a day pass for $45 (per person) online or at the door. Complimentary lounge access (including two free guests) will be given to American Express Platinum and American Express Business Platinum. Additionally those travelling on a same day Delta Airlines flight who have a Delta SkyMiles Reserve or Delta SkyMiles Reserve Business Card members will also be granted complementary access (each additional guest will cost $30 per person).

Closing Thoughts

This is very exciting news for Portland International (PDX), which currently has four lounges (Alaska, Delta, and United), Escape Pods, and a USO lounge. Based on the press release, this lounge will be located next to the Delta Sky Club.
