Priority Pass Price Increase Coming December 1, 2022
The popular lounge membership service Priority Pass will be increasing prices on December 1, 2022. The price increase will affect both visitors and those with purchased annual memberships. It does not appear there will be any change for bundled memberships included with premium cards (such as American Express Platinum or Capital One Venture X) other than the price for additional guests.
Guest Passes
The price for guests (or members with a Standard membership) visits will increase from $32 to $35 (£20 to £24) per visit. There are currently three membership tiers (Standard, Standard Plus, and Prestige) that determine how many visits are included.
Annual Membership Plans
Standard - no visits are included, you must pay for each visit (member or guest). Annual membership will remain unchanged at $99 (£69).
Standard Plus - includes 10 visits (then pay visitor rate for each additional person). The annual membership price will increase from $299 to $329 (£189 to £229).
Prestige - unlimited member visits (guests are required to pay for each visit). The annual membership price will increase from $429 to $469 (£339 to £419).
The lounge provider also said that “for our current members, we will be holding the fees [for annual membership] at the current prices for 12 months”.
Priority pass recently celebrated its 30th anniversary and currently comprises a portfolio of 1,300+ airport lounges and venues worldwide. There have been no changes in pricing in the last four years, so they need to raise the price due to the higher cost of operations.
There appears to still be a 20% discount that is still working online. I recommend if you are interested in a membership you grab it before the December 1st price increase.
Closing Thoughts
I have used my Priority Pass membership to get me into a handful of lounges and restaurants this year (2022) including The Club (ATL, MCO, and MSY), Air France Lounge (IAH), and Bobby Van's Steakhouse (JFK). I would not have been able to receive these benefits without the card so I am glad to have it when I travel. If you travel and are not tied to a specific airline or credit card lounge I recommend a Priority Pass membership.
