ROAM Fitness Opening PHL Location in 2023
This location has opened on July 10, 2023
ROAM Fitness has announced its newest location which will be opening at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) in the winter (2023).
This will be their second location to open in their planned (20+ location) expansion, following their first location at Baltimore Washington International Airport (BWI). The initial construction has started on this new (1,500 SQFT) facility and will include many of the same amenities as their BWI location such as premium cardio equipment, free weights, stretching space with yoga mats, and private shower rooms with Malin+Goetz products. The new location will also include new services including an infrared sauna, and exercise equipment offering immersive workouts and on-demand classes.
About ROAM Fitness
ROAM was founded by Cynthia Sandall and Ty Manegold, frequent travelers who wanted to create an environment for passengers to maintain their health and wellness while traveling. Over the last years, they have been working on fine-tuning the BWI location in anticipation of the expansion, and while weathering the travel downturn caused by COVID. Now that travel is back and more people are travelling this seems like a great time for expansion and the opening of this second location.
Inside ROAM Fitness there are options to purchase exercise gear from well-known brands like lululemon, Girlfriend Collective, and Rhone apparel. Entrance into to the facility starts at $25 for a 1-day Pass, $65 for a 3-day Pass, $100 for a 5-day Pass, and an annual membership option for $35 a month (with a 12-month commitment).
Closing Thoughts
I am excited to see them expanding to new airports. Getting the chance to exercise and then shower before a flight is such a great idea. Philadelphia has a diverse lounge prescience including American, British Airways, Delta, United, Centurion, and a couple of other wellness locations, but does not appear to have any exercise/gym options. On a long layover, I can see going for a 30-minute exercise and then hopping into a lounge for refreshments. I would love to this be a Priority Pass option in the future, but for $25 for a day pass the price is still right.
