Syracuse Hancock International Airport has opened its first non-military lounge to the public. The Escape Lounge (SYR) opened on June 6, 2023, and offers amenities to those traveling to or from Syracuse, New York. This opening will be the second lounge located at the SYR airport, including the Military Courtesy Room for military members and their families.

The lounge offers unlimited, fresh, and locally sourced food options and a full bar and coffee service. Other amenities include plush and relaxed seating, power outlets, tables, high-speed Wi-Fi internet, printing services, and access to magazines and newspapers.

The lounge partners with multiple local businesses to showcase locally crafted features, and the design of the lounge also integrates elements representing the city of Syracuse.

We want to give our guests a truly ‘Syracuse’ feel in our efforts to bring a local flavor to our lounges while maintaining impeccable brand standards,

Kevin Shrier, President of the Escape Lounges in the U.S.

Closing Thoughts

I think it is always exciting with an airport gets their first lounge that passengers can use regardless of their status or affiliation. The Escape lounges are very nice so I imagine this will draw crowds. Syracuse is a mid-size airports and offers domestic flights on eight airlines across the United States.
