Two New Lounges Opening Q2 of 2024 at Washington National Airport (DCA)

Exciting news for those who travel through Ronald Regan Washington National Airport (DCA). It has been announced that both American Express and Capital One will be opening new lounges at DCA sometime in Q2 of 2024. Details of the new lounges are limited, but we know some things about the two upcoming venues.

American Express Centurion Lounge

The Centurion Lounge (DCA) is reported to span 11,500 square feet (1,068 sqm) with panoramic views of the airport area. The lounge will likely be similar to other Centurion Lounges, featuring premium food and drink options and shower suites. This opening will mark the 15th Centurion Lounge in the United States.

Capital One Landing Lounge

The new Capital One Landing lounge will span 5,483 square feet (509 sqm) and be focused on dining. This lounge will be located in Terminal 2 - concourse D. This culinary-focused lounge will deliver 5-star dining to select airports nationwide. Capital One has partnered with world-renowned chef José Andrés and his acclaimed restaurant group, José Andrés Group, to curate and design the menu for Capital One Landing. It has been reported the venue will focus on Spanish-style tapas.

The opening of these lounges required changes to Virginia state laws related to mixed-beverage licenses and has likely caused a delay in the opening of these lounges.

Closing Thoughts

Washington Regan Airport currently has six lounges, including a USO lounge, so the addition of these two new lounges will significantly add to the travel experience. It has been announced that a Capital One Landing will also open at New York LaGuardia (LGA) airport and construction has begun.
